A crash caused traffic on the A2 to slow to a standstill this morning.

The crash happened on the London-bound carriageway just before 8am, when a car and a lorry were involved in a collision at the turn off for the A227 into Gravesend.

Queues stretched back to the M2 and the Medway junctions.

Recovery vehicles moved the cars to the side of the road and the accident was cleared in half an hour.
