A Scout group wants to replace a former meeting hut with homes.
Chalk Scout Group has submitted an application to demolish a building in Castle Lane, Gravesend, and replace it with three detached two-bedroom bungalows.
The application was validated by Gravesham council this week for consideration.
Planners will now decide whether the project can go ahead or not.
Simon Carter, a spokesman for the Scouts, said: "The application is for the location of one of our former Scout meeting places.
"The site has not been used as an active meeting facility for a number of years.
"The Scout group which previously used the site now meets in another location and has done for some years now. The group is still operating and is serving the needs of young people in the community.
"We are taking this opportunity to dispose of a building which was not fit-for-purpose and generate some income to make sure Scouting continues to thrive in the town.
"For many young people, the experience of Scouting is truly transformational and increases their wellbeing and life chances.”
