Gravesham District Scouts hold annual St George's Day service in Gravesend

Scout groups came together to mark St George's Day with their annual parade and service.

Cubs, beavers and explorers from across Gravesend were seen marching through the town centre in full uniform, led by troop leaders.

The mayor of Gravesham, Cllr David Hurley, led a short service to mark the occasion, as some children received their Chief Scout's Gold Award.

Ellie Patrick, 16, of 1st Shorne Scout Group, spoke to KentOnline about the event.

The district flag was raised at Community Square in Windmill Street, Gravesend, as parents, friends and family looked on.
