Six pumps tackle house fire

A house has been badly damaged by fire.

Firefighters were called to the detached house in Windsor Road, Gravesend, at around 12.15am on Friday morning.

Six Kent Fire and Rescue pumps, including Dartford and Thames-side crews and a control room used to co-ordinate efforts, were all at the scene to tackle the blaze.

No-one was inside the burning building and it took until 3am to put the fire out.

Crews were still at the scene at 5am.

The fire is now under investigation.
