Ebbsfleet United sit just one place off the bottom of the Blue Square Bet Premier table following defeat at Stockport.
Liam Daish’s side extended their run in the league without a win to four games.
And the damage was done in a six-minute spell during the second half at Stockport where Fleet conceded three goals.
Daish (pictured) was able to add a new face to his side after signing Grimsby midfielder Louis Soares on a one month loan in the lead up to the match. He played the full 90 minutes on Saturday.
But he wasn’t able to help change the club’s fortunes as their struggles continued.
After a goalless first half, which had seen Nathan Elder denied a goal on eight minutes after the referee saw a push, the floodgates were opened when Craig Hobson chipped the ball home six minutes after the restart.
Half-time substitute Liam Bellamy had the chance to level things immediately but shot wide and Hobson went down the other, three minutes after scoring his and County’s first, to put the hosts two goals ahead with a volleyed effort.
Just four minutes later and Fleet were out of sight as Tim Collins scored with a great solo effort.
The Fleet did have a glimmer of hope when Elder scored from the spot just after the hour, after fellow striker Moses Ashikodi had been fouled by Sean Newton in the box, but no further goals materliased despite some extra pressure from the visitors.
Ashikodi put an effort wide and then at the death had another chance that was blocked.
Fleet avoided slipping to the bottom of the league thanks to Dartford turning around their match late on against basement side Hyde.
