Street attack victim left lying in pool of blood

A YOUNG man had to undergo surgery after he was found unconscious with serious injuries following an attack outside a Kent nightclub.

The 23-year-old victim was lying in a pool of his own blood when he was found by a passer-by near H20 in High Street, Gravesend. He had a broken jaw, had lost three teeth and also suffered cuts and bruising to his face.

He told police he had been in the club earlier but went outside to have a cigarette and get some money from a cash machine. However, he has little recollection of the attack itself.

Det Const Tomothy Wigham said: "There would have been a lot of people around.

"It is possible that someone witnessed this nasty attack and I would ask that they contact us so we can find out exactly what happened to the victim and trace the person or people responsible."

Anyone with information about the attack - which took place at around 2.50am on Sunday, August 19 - is asked to contact police on 01474 565203 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
