A fire in a first-floor flat last night is believed to have been started by sunlight reflecting off an object in the home.
Crews in two engines were called to Cobham Street in Gravesend after the alarm was raised at about 7.15pm.
Firefighters wearing breathing gear went into the flat and spent almost 90 minutes tackling the flames.
There were no reported injuries.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service says the fire is believed to have started accidentally, with the likely cause refracted sunlight.
This would have seen sun rays striking a reflective object inside the property and being redirected onto something flammable.
Following the incident, crews are reminding people to keep reflective items like glass ornaments or mirrors away from windows and direct sunlight.
