A supermarket has launched an initiative to bring Christmas cheer to a care home.
Morrisons, in Gravesend, has set up a giving tree where customers can purchase presents for a resident at Deneholm Residential Home in Northfleet.
Store community champion Chris Bradford said: "I've been working with Deneholm care home for the last few months, supplying them with flowers and other activities to keep them going through lockdown.
"After many chats with the activity co-ordinators, I wanted to make Christmas as special as I can for them, as it's not going to be the same for anyone, let alone the residents.
"The tree is by the checkouts, in front of my community noticeboard.
"Anyone who wants to donate chooses a tag off the tree, which represents a resident, with the gender and age on.
"They purchase a gift, attach the tag and place it in the donation box, unwrapped, next to the tree. I will then wrap all the gifts and deliver them to the home in time for Christmas.
"The response has been brilliant – quite a few shares and positive comments on social media, and a lot of donations made already and it's only been out a few days."
