Shorne Active Retirement group hosts tea dance with ballroom, Latin and sequence dancing

Strictly Come Dancing’s Len Goodman would have looked right at home at Shorne Village Hall last week.

Ballroom, Latin and sequence dancing was all on the agenda, and the standard warranted even higher scores than Len’s trademark seven.

Led by Valerie and David Langridge as part of the local Active Retirement group, the village hall hosts a tea dance, for abilities ranging from beginners to the more experienced, on the last Thursday afternoon of each month.

Mrs Langridge said: “It is a non-profit making organisation but we need to cover the cost of the hall. Everyone that comes along really enjoys it, and the cost of entry includes tea, biscuits, and a free raffle.

“It is a great way to keep the body and brain active and to socialise and have fun.”

Entry is £5, and the next one is on Thursday March 30, from 2pm to 4pm. Just turn up.
