A teenage girl has been hit by a car in Northfleet this morning.
Police were called at 8am to reports of an accident in Vale Road.
It was reported a teenage girl was hit by a blue Ford Focus.
The road was closed at the junction with Waterdales and Colyer Road and reopened by 8.50am.
The girl suffered leg injuries and was taken to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford.
Mum Sarah Wheeler was at the scene of the accident with her three children.
She said: "I called the paramedics. The girl was listening to music on her phone and then she just walked out.
"The driver had no chance of stopping. Its dangerous up that road, they need a proper crossing and the schools need to remind kids that music and roads don't mix.
"I had my 12, nine and four-year-old with me and reminded them after that they must always look and listen."
She added: "The girl was consious and it seemed to be a problem with her legs. I hope the driver is ok as well because there was really nothing she could have done."
A zebra crossing could be installed on a road in Northfleet in a bid to reduce the number of pedestrians being hit by cars.
Kent County Council is proposing to install it in Vale Road, near the junction with Colyer Road.
Vale Road has seen a number of crashes, four of which, KCC says, involved pedestrians.
