Preston Edwards saved a last-minute penalty to earn Ebbsfleet a precious point at Telford on Tuesday night.
The Fleet came from behind twice at the New Bucks Head and when Edwards, pictured, denied Telford’s Steve Jones his hat-trick from 12 yards, it was no more than the visitors deserved.
Jones gave Telford the lead after five minutes but the Fleet were level almost immediately when Nathan Elder struck from close range.
On 26 minutes Jones doubled his tally to put the Bucks back in front. Ebbsfleet trailed 2-1 at half-time but Elder equalised from the penalty spot early in the second period after Ashley Carew had been fouled.
Liam Daish’s side grew in confidence and went looking for a winner but there were indebted to Edwards for his last-gasp heroics.
On Saturday, Ebbsfleet host fellow Blue Square Bet Premier strugglers Hyde at Stonebridge Road. Kick-off is at 3pm.
