A school which had to shut due to structural issues will be partially opening on Monday.
On Wednesday (September 27), pupils were sent home from Meopham School in Wrotham Road, Meopham, after bosses said there was a health and safety issue in the main school building.
The issue required the attention of a structural surveyor.
Pupils switched to remote learning using Google Classrooms and have not attended school physically for the past two days.
However, on Monday pupils from Years 7, 11, 12 and 13 will be able to go back to school.
Lessons have been re-homed for these groups and the school will be using temporary buildings as well as rooms on the ground floor of the main building.
Pupils in Years 8, 9 and 10 will continue with remote learning on Monday, but will be welcomed back into school from Tuesday.
In a letter to parents today, the head teacher wrote: “I am pleased to be able to confirm that the current work to remedy the health and safety concern with the school building has been successful.
“The school is now safe to be partially reopened from Monday and fully reopened from Tuesday.
“Our contractors will be working throughout the weekend to ensure that our school is able to reopen to these projected timelines.
“Closing a school is the last thing any head teacher would wish to do and I thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. It is deeply appreciated by not only myself but all our staff.
“We look forward to having our students back into school.”
