Members of a village cricket club are reeling after their club house was targeted by thieves.
Cobham Cricket Club in The Street, Cobham, was hit by three men just after 1am on Tuesday.
It is believed the gang prised open the building’s door with a crowbar during the break-in and while they only managed to snatch a measly £40 from its till, they actually caused damage worth hundreds.
The trio were captured by the club’s CCTV cameras carrying out the crime.
Two of the men were wearing hooded tops, one of which had a large Adidas logo on the back, while another man was wearing just a t-shirt - he appears to be in his late thirties to forties and is white.
Cobham chairman Colin Jackson, 71, has been associated with the club for 60 years and has been chairman for 15. He said everyone was frustrated by the crime.
Mr Jackson said: “There was a lot of damage, I was really upset when I found out. The funny thing was, we didn't even know the CCTV was working.
"After the break-in we sent an engineer down to update the system because a camera had been smashed outside and that’s when we found out.
“They took about £30-40 from the till in the bar but the there is a lot more damage to building, to fix the till it will cost us £400.”
Mr Jackson reported the crime to the police who have since been to visit the scene.
He said: “I think I know how they got in, they managed to prise open our double glazed doors with a crow bar without much damage being done.
"They ripped two cameras from the outside but they didn’t realise that we had a camera in the bar.”
Mr Jackson said the club was saving up for new facilities but this will now have to go towards buying new cameras, an alarm system and replacing the till.
He said: “Everybody is shocked and angry because our club is one well used by the community.
"We’re not hard up because we do have our bar to bring in money but the alarm system and cameras should cost us about £2,000.
"We were saving up for new pitch covers - but we’re going to have to spend our savings now.”
