A TEENAGE thug is facing a long jail sentence after being convicted of four vicious knife attacks.

Lee Prescott was earlier this month found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous harm to Mark Burroughs, Clayton Bance and Ricky Beattie.

He was also convicted of affray and possessing an offensive weapon during the incident in New Ash Green on New Year’s Day this year.

On Tuesday, Prescott, 19, and Charlie Dickson, 22, were convicted of wounding father Andrew Gayfer outside his home,

in New Ash Green, on September 10, 2006.

In the first incident, trouble flared between two groups during New Year’s celebrations.

Jonathan Higgs, prosecuting at Maidstone Crown Court, said Prescott produced a knife and “set about using it”. Four people were injured, some seriously.

The jury could not reach a verdict on a fourth wounding charge.

Prescott was caught on CCTV film meting out violence to Mark Burroughs with the weapon. The victim suffered eight wounds.

Mr Bance was attacked as he just happened to be “walking in the thick of it”. Mr Beattie was unable to say who stabbed him.

In the second incident, Mr Gayfer, 48, was knifed after he chased a gang of youths who vandalised his front door.

He was left bleeding from a “substantial” cut to his chest, another through muscle in his right arm and others to his back.

Dickson, of Reservoir Close, Greenhithe, Sean O’Connor, 20, Matthew Slattery, 22, both of Olivers Mill, New Ash Green, and Prescott, of Farm Holt, New Ash Green, denied wounding with intent and alternative charges of unlawful wounding and actual bodily harm.

Mr O’Connor and Mr Slattery were acquitted of all charges.

Adjourning sentence until January 2, Judge Charles MacDonald, QC, said he would be considering prison sentences for public protection.

Prescott and Dickson were remanded in custody.
