The
Top Gear presenters drive tanks around Gravesend
estate
by Rachel Hovenden
James May revving up in a tank isn't what you
expect to drive past you on a Friday morning.
But that's what residents of the Kings Farm estate in Gravesend
woke up to.
The Top Gear
team including Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond were spotted
filming in Christian Fields Avenue, Gravesend for the
programme.
The motoring experts arrived at about 9.30am as crowds began to
form.
Throughout the day the celebrities were filmed driving into
three derelict homes.
It is thought the team had a bet that they could demolish
the houses quicker thant Erith construction company, who
are demolishing the rest of the estate.
Mark Dillen, 29, used to live in the estate and has since moved
to the town centre.
He said: "It was very exciting. I absolutely love Top Gear.
"It has been really fun. It is a bit different.
"My sister called me to let me know they were here so I rushed
down.
"It's not often something good happens in Kings Farm so it makes
a lovely change."
