TV personality and dog-lover Pete Wicks is visiting Bluewater to sign copies of his new book, whilst sharing a very important message.
Pete, who found fame on ITV reality show The Only Way Is Essex, will be at the shopping centre tomorrow (Thursday) from 5pm to 6pm to greet fans, and highlight the issues facing French bulldogs.
'For the Love of Frenchies' explores Pete's relationship with his own four-legged companions, and how we can all help to eradicate the problems facing the breed.
Thousands of unwanted dogs currently need expensive veterinary treatment or rehoming, in part due to shocking unregulated breeding practices and illegal importation.
French bulldogs are now the most popular dog breed in the UK, but vets have warned that the craze is resulting in canines with agonising deformities and serious respiratory problems.
Pete is working with charities such as Dogs Trust, PupAid and Humane Society International to spread awareness, and travelled to South Korea to rescue six animals from a dog meat farm last year.
By sharing his story, Pete is attempting to promote responsible ownership, whilst recounting the love and grief that every owner feels for their pets.
