The communities of Gravesend and Northfleet came together to celebrate the 49th annual Northfleet carnival.
The towns burst into life and colour as the carnival procession wound through the streets from Springhead Industrial Park, Northfleet, into Hall Road, and on towards Gravesend town centre on Saturday.
Decorated floats from organisations and charities were on show as usual, but there were also floats marking the Queen’s 90th birthday, and classic car and vintage vehicle owners were invited to take part as one-off for this year’s celebrations.
Painted faces and fancy dress added further colour to the occasion, and musicians young and old provided the soundtrack to the day.
Performing arts organisations had their own special category, with dance-school gymnastics troops, marching bands and many more groups invited to take part.
