A ferry connecting Kent to Essex is back up and running after some people stranded when it broke down.

The Tilbury Ferry, connecting the port town to Gravesend, suffered an electrical fault on the entry shutters of the pier.

Tilbury Ferry tweeted at 8am: "Please be aware the ferry is still not in operation due to access issues.

"Currently no further updates available."
