Liam Enver-Marum secured the match-ball and Ebbsfleet United's place in the second round of the FA Trophy after victory at Truro City on Saturday.
Fleet did have to withstand a second-half barrage before ensuring their place in Monday's draw and £5,000 in prize-money against their Blue Square Bet South hosts, who were depleted by injury and without talismanic forward Barry Hayles.
Fleet took the lead - for the first time in more than a month - inside five minutes when Enver-Marum headed home a corner by Michael West (pictured).
Les Afful levelled the scores with a moment of magic from the edge of the area on 20 minutes but within a minute West had restored Fleet's advantage with an 18-yard blast which beat the City keeper for his first goal in 10.
Nathaniel Pinney made it 3-1 just before the half-hour, despite furious protests by the home side that he handled in the build-up, and the crucial fourth arrived from Enver-Marum within eight minutes of the start of the second half.
Afful pulled back his second of the game to make it 4-2 within five minutes but despite the hosts throwing caution to the wind and piling on the pressure, hitting the woodwork, they were caught on the break by Fleet late-on with Enver-Marum sealing his hat-trick and a 5-2 win.
