Police release two men under investigation after woman’s body found in Bath Street, Gravesend

Two men who were arrested after a woman was found dead in a car park have been released under investigation.

Forensics officers were spotted at the site in Bath Street, Gravesend, at around 5.30am on Tuesday, August 1.

Officers were pictured at the scene which had been cordoned off.

The woman’s death is being treated as unexplained and her next of kin have been informed.

Initially, two men in their 50s were arrested in connection with the incident and were bailed to return to police last week.

Now, a spokesman for the force has confirmed both men have been released pending further investigations.

At the time, people living nearby were sent an email, which has been seen by KentOnline, about the “serious incident”.

It said: “It has been reported this morning that throughout the night, an unknown person has sadly died in the car park.

“The police are now on site and examining the area.”

It added how the ramp down to car park area had been sealed off while officers conducted their investigation.
