THE A2 has reopened following an accident northbound between Tollgate and Pepperhill junctions this afternoon.

A spokesman for the Highways Agency said it was a two-vehicle incident and all lanes were closed on the northbound carriageway at 3.25pm while the emergency services dealt with it.

There were no reports of serious injuries and the road was reopened at 3.45pm.
