A charity uniform sale is being held to raise money for a school and help families struggling financially.
Volunteers at Riverview Infants School in Gravesend have gathered more than 1000 donated garments, which will be on offer this Friday in an open air market on the school field from 8.30am to 10am and 12.45 to 2.30pm.
Kulvinder Kaur, who has helped coordinate 'pre-loved uniform' sales, said the initiative began last year when lost property uniform items were put on sale, raising £150 for the school.
That work led to a school sale being organised before lockdown earlier this year, and Mrs Kaur began selling uniforms in garage driveway sales at her home.
She and other volunteers have so far raised £600, and are hoping to boost that figure this Friday.
"We have stopped all this uniform going to Landfill therefore saving our planet," said Mrs Kaur, adding: "We are helping those in difficult financial situations buy good quality uniform and raising funds for our school charity all the time keeping momentum going."
Uniform items will be on sale for £1 and £2, and the market will include items that can be worn in other schools.
Sweet cones and goody bags will also be on sale and social distancing measures will be in place.
