You can help the appeal in memory of youngster Stacey Mowle to hit new heights by voting to name a Dreamliner plane in her honour.
Holiday company Thomson has launched a competition to have the latest addition to its fleet of passenger jets named by the public.
The Stacey Mowle Appeal, which was set up to raise awareness of the rare childhood cancer relapsed nueroblastoma, as well as funds for specialist treatment, is now urging supporters to back their bid for the 787 Dreamliner to bear Stacey’s name.
Stacey, of Trafalgar Road, Gravesend, died in March at the age of nine after a brave five-year battle against the disease, for which there is no treatment in the UK nor NHS funding to provide it abroad.
More than £220,000 was raised towards the £500,000 needed to help Stacey before she sadly died. However, it was decided the appeal should continue to help other children suffering from the same condition, and as a lasting legacy to Stacey herself.
It is also the KM Charity of the Year.
Supporters are now being urged to vote for Stacey and share the online link on social media with family and friends.
A spokesman said: “Don’t be the person who says ‘if only I voted’. We need every Stacey supporter to share this as soon as possible so that we stand a chance of naming a plane after our princess.”
The winning entry will also receive £2,500 in holiday vouchers, which may be auctioned off by the appeal if successful, or used to treat a deserving child once the appeal acquires charity status.
Votes can be cast until midday on Monday, November 16. The five entries with the highest number will then be submitted to a judging panel, with the winner selected and notified that same day.
