Gravesham council has warned residents to be on their guard following reports of fraudsters posing as council officers.
The council issued a statement via its social media accounts this afternoon, following a number of incidents of cold-callers around the borough.
A statement said: "We have received a number of reports of people claiming to be from Gravesham Borough Council calling unannounced on local residents to talk about carrying out repair work and the installation of insulation.
Please be aware, we currently have no staff making calls of this nature.
Our staff will always show an official ID when visiting residents.
If you are approached, please ask to see the caller's identification.
If you have any concerns, do not let them into your property and call the police on 101 or, in an emergency, 999."
