The Robert Pocock Wetherspoons pub in Gravesend town centre set to reopen after undergoing £190,000 refurbishment

A popular pub is set to reopen after undergoing a £190,000 refurbishment project.

The Robert Pocock, in Gravesend, will be welcoming punters to the new-look boozer tomorrow (August 13) at 8am.

The pub, in Windmill Street, which first opened as a Wetherspoon in July 1998, has undergone ground-floor internal works to improve the seating area.

Carpet repairs have taken place and works to upgrade the coffee station and heating and cooling equipment in the customer area and pub kitchen have taken place.

Pub manager Dean Shutt said: “The Robert Pocock has been a community hub in Gravesend for more than 25 years.

“This refurbishment work highlights Wetherspoon’s continued investment in the town, as well as the company’s commitment to its staff and customers, offering the best possible facilities.
