Assistant boss Paul McCarthy says securing Ebbfleet’s maiden home win of the season will take pressure off their away performances
Fleet slid into the Blue Square Bet Premier drop-zone after being undone by former hero Magno Viera at Stonebridge Road on Saturday – the Brazilian scoring two and assisting in the other in Fleetwood’s 3-1 win – before Liam Daish’s side suffered a 2-0 reverse at Cambridge United on Tuesday.
Fleet had gone three games unbeaten on the road before Tuesday night.
McCarthy (pictured) said: "It’s a great sign when your away form is good and you’re picking up points but that doesn’t matter that much if you’re not winning your home games."
The Fleet are away to Alfreton on Saturday before taking on Bath City at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday night and McCarthy added: "It is important to try and get that home win and start to take some pressure off us when we do go away.
"I don’t know what is going on at home. We have had good spells in all the games where we have played well but the key is not conceding and we’ve not managed to do that.
"A few decisions have gone against us as well. On Saturday for their second goal, they took the free-kick six or seven yards away from the referee and I didn’t feel that was right, particularly when it’s so close to the penalty area."
