A sports and fitness centre has warned it may close at the end of the month.
Meopham Leisure Centre's lease is running out and managers say it might not be possible to extend it.
Meopham Sport and Leisure Association warns it may close on Friday, July 29.
The message on the centre's website tells customers: "We’re writing at the earliest opportunity to regrettably inform you there is a strong possibility Meopham Leisure Centre may close on 29th July 2022.
"We understand this is a shock, and the news is very sad indeed.
"Please be reassured the MSLA are working hard to find a solution that will hopefully ensure your important, and valued community facility, stays open after 29th July.
"We’d like to thank all the staff for their perseverance through this challenging time, and would like to assure everyone that we are rallying hard to continue to deliver the best service to you."
The message says that the lease with Swale Academies Trust, which operates Meopham Secondary School, will cease at the end of July and an extension has not so far been secured in negotiations.
Managers are encouraging customers to keep using the centre in the meantime.
Those using direct debit had their last monthly payments taken yesterday.
These customers will be advised of an update before the next due payment is taken on August 1. No money would be taken before an update.
Those who have paid in advance for an entire year will be refunded for payments covering after July if closure does happen.
For those wanting to renew memberships, short-term membership offers will be made.
Those who have made block bookings beyond July will be refunded for that period if closure happens
Management stress that any bookings that cannot be honoured after July will mean refunds.
Both Meopham Sport and Leisure Association and Swale Academies Trust have been contacted by Kent Online for further comment.
