A prankster who has earned a reputation for pitch invasions gate-crashed celebrations at the Rugby World Cup final last night.

Daniel Jarvis, known as Jarvo online, stormed the pitch when South Africa collected their trophy after a 12-11 win against New Zealand in Paris.

The YouTuber from Gravesend was spotted on camera trying to talk to Springbok players and photobombing various team moments wearing sunglasses.

Viewers took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, asking: “Who is this clown?”

This morning Jarvis claimed responsibility for the prank saying: “Yes I won the Rugby World Cup!

“Who’s ready for the video?”

Footage filmed from his point of view has since been posted to his YouTube channel.

It shows him walking onto the pitch at the Stade de France in Paris as celebratory Champagne was handed around.

He takes a swig from the bottle and shakes hands with winger Cheslin Kolbe and scrum-half Faf de Klerk, who appears to recognise Jarvis asking: “Are you that guy?”

Kolbe then laughs as he realises who Jarvis is.

As he continues to pose alongside the players for photos, one of the squad confronts him and says: “You can’t be here, you should leave.”

Security are then called to the pitch with players saying: “He’s not one of us, we don’t know him.”

Jarvis is then escorted away down one of the emergency exits from the pitch to cheers from the South African fans.

In January, Jarvis claimed responsibility for a live TV stunt which saw 'sex noises' played as Match of the Day host Gary Lineker presented.

As the former England captain spoke, the sound of a woman moaning in pleasure started playing in the background.

It soon emerged a mobile phone had been taped to the back of a chair in the studio allowing Jarvis to play the risqué clip.

The BBC launched an investigation into how it happened.

Last September he invaded a cricket Test match between England and India.

He was kitted out in whites as he leaped over the barrier at The Oval in September last year and barged into batsman Jonny Bairstow.

He claimed he did it to "make people happy” but was dragged off the field by security and was found guilty of aggravated trespassing following a trial at Croydon Magistrates' Court.

In 2015 he was banned from attending football matches for three years after he invaded the pitch at White Hart Lane.

He pulled the stunt alongside two others during a Europa League match against Partizan Belgrade.
