From Gallifrey to Gravesend, Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary will be celebrated in style with a parade of Daleks, Cybermen and Doctors.
New Road will be teaming with alien creatures, and even a full-size TARDIS and the third Doctor’s car Bessie, during half- term week.
In the build up, shops around the town will have faces from past Time Lords forming an intergalactic treasure hunt.
Children will have to hunt for 12 different cut outs, including the Doctor, Captain Jack Harkness, K9 and the TARDIS, in 12 different shops across the town.
It will run from today until November 2 and has been organised by Gravesend town centre manager Graham Long.
It all culminates on Friday, November 1 with the fun day itself. Children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Doctor Who character and there will be prizes going to the best look-a-like.
Doctor Who celebrates 50 years on our screens on November 23 with a 75-minute special episode starring the soon-to-leave Matt Smith and 10th Doctor David Tennant.
The 3-D special will also be shown at cinemas, though Bluewater has yet to confirm whether it will show the episode.
Entry forms for the treasure hunt are available from Towncentric by St George’s Church and Gravesend library in Windmill Street.
