Moses Ashikodi scored a dramatic late winner to send Ebbsfleet through to the first round proper of the FA Cup at the expense of Woking.

The 25-year-old, pictured, back from international duty with Antigua & Barbuda, came on as a substitute and struck with three minutes remaining, just as the tie seemed destined for a replay.

Nathan Elder prodded a loose ball into Ashikodi’s path and he fired high into the roof of the net.

It was no more than the Fleet deserved. They survived an early scare when Adam Newton’s shot clipped the post, before an offside flag denied Liam Enver-Marum a goal against his former side at the other end.

Phil Walsh, promoted to the starting line-up, then missed a good chance to put the visitors in front when he headed wide.

Ebbsfleet survived a spell of Woking pressure during which Bradley Bubb fired into the side-netting, before Ashikodi pounced to send the travelling supporters wild.

A trip to Carlisle United now awaits the Fleet on the weekend of November 3.
