Woman bus driver hurt in crash

A BUS driver was taken to hospital with leg injuries after her vehicle was in collision with a van.

The accident happened in East Milton Road at Gravesend causing tailbacks in the town.

The van driver, Robert Bouchard, 27, an engineer for Gaslec, said a car which swerved was also involved in the incident. He said the bus was not carrying passengers at the time. He added: "The driver seemed in extreme pain when they took her out of the bus."

A police spokesman said: "There was a lot of debris in the road that police cleared. The bus driver was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with lower leg injuries."
