Woman subjected to unprovoked street attack

A WOMAN was grabbed by the throat, punched and then kicked in an unprovoked attack as she walked along a street.

The victim, who is 48 and from Gravesend, was attacked as she walked along Canal Road in the town.

A group of two women and one man were walking towards her and as they passed each other, one of the women made a grab for the victim, holding her around the throat. The victim was then punched in the chest and kicked in the leg.

No attempt was made to rob her and the woman was pulled away by the man who was with them.

Police are appealing for information about the attack, which took place at around 6.15pm on September 21.

The attacker was white, aged 18 to 20 and had brown shoulder-length hair. The man who pulled her off was also white, the same age and had brown short hair. There is no description of the third member of the group.
