Work remains “on track” for Gravesend’s Heritage Quarter plans, with building set to begin later this year.

Bosses at developer Edinburgh House say work on the £120m scheme will start from October onwards.

Development manager Richard Hughes said: “There has been substantial work done on the project such as the legal agreements for the land and the development process.

“The development will require many skills and services during the building process; surveyors, ground workers, building contractors, carpenters, horticulture teams, shop fitters to name but a few. ”

The first stage of the work will be in the Eastern Quarter, the car park behind the indoor market. Parking will be relocated underground with new restaurants, cafes, homes and a town square, linked to the indoor market.
