A shopping centre was cordoned off following an assault on a shop worker.

Police taped off the area around The Row, in New Ash Green, following the attack just before 12.30pm today (July 4).

Kent Police said they were called following a theft at a shop.

A spokesman said: “The victim suffered injuries that were treated at the scene by paramedics and officers are currently completing inquiries into the incident.

“Any witness and anyone with information that may assist the investigation should call 01622 604100, quoting reference 4-0601.”
