Do you remember six years ago when Tamera Foster was the name on everyone’s lips?
The X Factor star, from Gravesend, made it all the way to the live shows.
Everyone in the town got behind her with posters appearing in shops and businesses and her name was plastered across the tabloid newspapers.
After coming fifth overall, Tamera has spent several years perfecting her technique and now she has released her debut single Romeo.
Described as a smooth, smokey, R&B jam, it has already been viewed more than 20,000 times on YouTube.
When Tamera was on the ITV show she was still living at home with her mum and shared a bedroom with her younger sister.
The North West Kent College student was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger but Tamera's talent won over all the judges, with Gary Barlow describing her potential as "stratospheric", while Louis Walsh said she had star quality.
In 2017, Tamera left her home to live in London, where she said she missed friends and family to lean on so, like diary entries, she poured her heart into her songs.
Tamera, now 22, said in a post on Instagram: “The last six years I’ve been working on music have been a series of incredible learning experiences with so many ups and downs.
"I had to gain a lot of perspective before I could write songs I felt were a genuine expression of what I was going through.
"A huge thanks to everyone that's been supporting me over the years and to the ones who have recently started following my journey" - Tamera Foster
“I know I still have so much to learn and I cannot wait for the next beautiful life lessons the universe has in store for me.
She added: “A huge thank you and I love you to everyone that put their love time and energy into helping me make and put out these next few singles.
“And a huge thanks to everyone that’s been supporting me over the years and to the ones who have recently started following my journey.”
