Ebbsfleet boss Steve Brown hailed Monday's 0-0 draw against Wealdstone as a great result.

Daryl McMahon was shown a straight red card just before half-time, meaning the Fleet had to play for more than half the game with 10 men.

They missed a penalty but kept Wealdstone at arm's length for much of the afternoon.

Brown said: "It's an absolutely blinding result for me. We were down to 10 men at home after 35 minutes and not only that, we created the better opportunities, we missed a penalty and they've had one shot on target in 90 minutes.

"You're hoping to get a 1-0 with 10 men but it's not done very often.

"I put Cookie (Anthony Cook) in centre-midfield, I thought he was excellent, I thought my back-four were excellent and I thought the work-rate from Matty Godden and Alex Osborn in the wide areas, when we went down to 10, was exceptional.

"How can I ask any more? If I'd got that on Saturday, I think we'd have beaten Whitehawk - but I didn't.

"I honestly believe once we got to grips with the game after about 20 minutes, that was only going one way. The sending-off was a big setback to us but for 10 minutes after the sending-off, I thought we dominated, which resulted in the penalty, and you just need that to go in.

"We've had four chances today and that pair of strikers won't get opportunities like that in games to put the ball in the back of the net. That's probably the only downside to today.

"But from a manager's perspective, how can I ask any more in terms of a shift and another clean sheet? That's three clean sheets at home.

"I think it's a great result in terms of when you weigh up the day."
