Reaching the Skrill South play-off final will impact Ebbsfleet United's team selection in the Kent Senior Cup final on Bank Holiday Monday.

Ebbsfleet are up against Dover Athletic at Priestfield, just five days before the fierce rivals meet again in the play-off final at Stonebridge Road.

And Fleet boss Steve Brown will give some of his squad players a game with that in mind.

Asked whether his side's 4-1 aggregate win over Bromley in the play-off semi-final would affect his thinking for Monday's game, Brown said: "It affects it greatly. I’ve got to protect what I have and I’ve got to protect what was out there on Saturday.

"I’ve got players at my disposal that rested on Saturday and that can come in on Monday. We’ll just see what comes out of this 90 minutes, when they’ve all rested up and had a nice sleep and a chance to recover.

"We’ll get the information gathered in to see who’s in the best condition to go again on Monday."

It would have been a different story had Ebbsfleet lost to Bromley over the two legs.

Brown said: "I know how we’re going to treat (the Kent Senior Cup final), and it might have been slightly different if we had gone out in the (play-off) semi-final. I don’t know if their mentality changes, I can’t speak for Dover at all, but our mentality has changed somewhat.

"We’ve now got a far more important game next Saturday in my opinion – no disrespect to the Kent FA – because a place in the Skrill Premier is far more important than winning the Kent Senior Cup.

"My mentality has definitely changed."

Kick-off at Priestfield on Monday is at 3pm.
