Former boss Liam Daish admits the spending power his old club Ebbsfleet now have is "frightening".

Daish left Fleet by mutual consent in May 2013, just after KEH Sports had completed their takeover from previous owners MyFootballClub.

He spent more than eight years in the Stonebridge Road hotseat and was succeeded by Steve Brown, who was in turn replaced by Jamie Day last December.

Kuwaiti owner Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi has pumped more than £2million into the club since Daish's departure, paying for stadium improvements and two squad overhauls among much else.

Daish, who's now in charge at Nuneaton Town, said: "The future looks bright for Ebbsfleet, with the new ground.

"When I was there, it was pretty much all hands to the pump and I went beyond my remit of actually being a manager.

"But that’s what the dollar does. You bring some money in and you can change things around a lot quicker than when you have no money. I think that’s the key.

"A new manager’s come in and I know Jamie well. He’s come in, he’s had money to spend and he can pay players off, get rid of ones that he doesn’t want and that’s a great asset to have.

"I had to get rid of players there by forcing them out of the door or trying to manufacture moves for them to go elsewhere. It must be a great asset to say ‘thanks but you’re not for me’ and they pay you off.

"For this level, that’s frightening."
