FLEET boss Andy Ford has received a double blow with the news that young forward Liam Hatch has suffered cruciate ligament damage, while new signing Hamid Barr could be set to leave the club without playing a game.

Barr, who only signed a contract for Gravesend last Friday, has been given permission to train with Carlisle this week after the Football League outfit expressed an interest in signing him.

Ford should find out later this week whether the Cumbrian side want to purchase the former QPR hit-man, although it's bound to be a concern to Fleet fans that the club have signed a player who is willing to consider moving on.

With Hatch set to miss a number of weeks of the season with the leg injury he collected in the 3-1 defeat against Southport on Saturday, the Stonebridge Road club did receive some good news when Tostao Kwashi agreed to sign a two-year contract.
