HARRY DHAMI: emotional return

KENT boxer Harry Dhami will make an emotional return to the St Andrews Boxing Club in Glasgow as he attempts to re-build his career.

The 31-year-old from Gravesend will have his first fight for almost two years to the day when he takes on Central Area champion Lee Armstrong on Monday, November 17.

Dhami's last fight was in Glasgow in November 2001 when he lost his British welterweight title to Neil Sinclair.

Dhami was due to fight on the Johnny Armour versus Nathan Sting undercard at Brentwood in July but his opponent pulled out at the last minute.

Dhami said: “We were pushing to get a fight before everything winds down in August and September but it didn't happen. I have been a bit on edge but I'm happy that I've got a date to prepare for. I'm two or three weeks into training because I know it'll be a hard fight.”

Armstrong boasts a 32-fight record with 22 wins (three by knockout) with eight defeats and two draws.
