Ebbsfleet United have appealed against the red card shown to defender Mark Ricketts.

Ricketts was dismissed in the fourth minute of injury-time during the club's 3-1 defeat against Burton Albion on Saturday.

An FA hearing to decide whether or not the red card should be rescinded will take place this afternoon.

If the appeal is successful, Ricketts will be able to play in tonight's Setanta Shield third round clash away at Eastbourne Borough.
