Fleet comfortably beaten on away day

Stevenage Borough 2 Gravesend & Northfleet 0
TWO first half goals were enough for play-off chasing Stevenage Borough to brush aside Gravesend on Saturday.
Stevenage, who started the day in fifth place in the Nationwide Conference table, took the lead 10 minutes before the break when Jon Nurse got in behind the Fleet defence to turn home a free-kick.
The home side doubled their advantage in first half stoppage time when Gravesend failed to clear their lines and goalscorer Nurse turned provider to slide the ball across to Darren Stamp who finshed past Craig Holloway.
The closest the Fleet came was a Ross Smith header, but in truth Liam Daish's side rarely threatened.
Gravesend: Holloway, Gooding, R Smith, McCarthy (Hawkins h-t), Watkins, Slatter (Moore 55), Saunders, Bowry, Johnson, J Smith, Rawle (Fuller 78).
Subs Not Used: Kerr, McKimm.
Attendance: 1,873.
