Jack Powell can’t wait to get started at Ebbsfleet after being shown the club’s vision of the future.
Powell, 22, was a Millwall player last season and spent time at Swindon earlier this summer before signing a deal at Stonebridge Road.
The midfielder tweeted: 'Excited is an understatement' and went on to explain why this move has got him so pumped.
He said: "The excitement factor is a case of not playing regular football last season, coming to a club that’s on the up, having shared the pitch with some of these players and seeing some of the things that are going on behind the scenes.
"In football you hear things about every club. I’d heard some things about Ebbsfleet but when you actually get shown the finer details and get to look at the training ground and the plans for the stadium and the players they’ve got at their disposal, you get to really understand which direction the club’s heading in.
"There are a lot of positive things to come for the club in the next few years and they’re also working on being able to sustain that, which is the most important thing. There are some good coaches here and a young manager who wants to play an exciting style of football, which I’m looking forward to being involved with.
"There’s a lot of League experience in the squad, a lot of technically gifted players but also a good mix of the physical attributes you need to win the league.
"We’ve got some strong boys in there and some technical footballers so the mix we’ve got is perfect."
Millwall boss Neil Harris said that in a team with a holding midfielder, Powell is a good fit – although he believes he’s a more complete player.
He said: "I can do a bit of everything as a midfielder. I like to get on the ball and open up my range of passing, get us in some good areas with the ball where we can make things happen.
"I can win the ball back as well and put my foot in where I need to.
"I’m a technical footballer who likes to get on the ball as much as possible, get attacks started and help us progress up the pitch."
Powell’s three years at Millwall were frustrating at times.
He said: "I felt I was ready to play but my opportunities were few and far between last season. The club went down a different route.
"But I can’t have too many complaints. It’s a good club and although I would like to have played more, they were successful so it’s hard to say I should have been involved."
