McCARTHY: "This is a test for us now"

CAPTAIN Paul McCarthy believes Gravesend & Northfleet are now facing a test of their play-off credentials following two consecutive defeats in the Nationwide Conference.

Gravesend find themselves in seventh spot in the table following their 3-0 defeat to Stevenage on Saturday.

McCarthy said: "On the scheme of things it hasn’t been too bad. We’ve slipped up in the last couple of games but this is a test for us now.

"These things happen at times in football. You have these little spells but it is down to how you respond."
