JIMMY STROUTS: remaining at Welling for a third month

GRAVESEND & Northfleet boss Andy Ford will be hoping his side can revert to their recent good form when they visit fellow strugglers Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

After last Saturday's 5-2 thrashing by Hereford, Ford will demand a huge improvement from his defence.

He said: “Four of their goals were down to individual mistakes and you cannot legislate for that. When Hereford scored their fourth, our heads dropped and we lost our shape.

"They had two attackers and we had four defenders and that can’t happen. We got off to a flying start and were still celebrating when they equalised.”

Off the field, the club have appointed Barry Wickenden as advertising and marketing executive and Anna Molloy as administrative assistant.
