Myles Weston insists Ebbsfleet have the quality to get out of trouble in the National League.
Fleet are three points adrift at the bottom having lost all five matches so far.
But Weston, who scored in their 2-1 defeat at Solihull on Saturday, believes they can climb the table.
He said: "It’s a new team with a lot of new players so it’s about gelling, it’s about team bonding and it’s about sticking together.
"I feel like we’ll get out of it but it’s little things we need to stop before we do and we’ve got to grind for a result.
"No-one’s going to give us a result, no-one’s going to offer three points to us.
"This league’s not easy, it’s a hard league so we’ve got to stick together, keep going and we will start winning. I really do believe that.
"It might be hard for some people but you can’t think of negatives.
"You’ve got to work on the things you need to work on, you’ve got to improve as a team, improve individually and do what you need to do to get the points.
"You have to earn it - football’s not easy.
"We can definitely build on the last performance and if we cut out the silly mistakes we’ve been making, we’ll definitely be all right.
"There have been encouraging performances this season that we can take positives from.
"We have to take the positives. We’ve got to work on the negatives but don’t dwell on them.
"I feel we’ll be all right and we’ll get the points that we need."
Weston, who joined Ebbsfleet in 2017, is now one of the club's longest-serving players.
The winger was one of three players offered reduced terms in the summer, alongside Danny Kedwell and Jack Payne, after triggering a clause in his contract.
Kedwell and Payne left to join Havant and Eastleigh respectively but Weston signed up for a third season at Stonebridge Road.
He said: "I didn’t know what I was going to do but after speaking to the gaffer and hearing what he wanted to do, I decided to sign.
"Now I’m here, I’ve got to give everything regardless of who's here."
Only five members of last season's squad are still at Ebbsfleet.
Weston said: "It’s not the first time this has happened in my career. You have to adjust.
"It’s a new team and new players but I’m quite experienced and I’m trying to help everyone to gel together whether that’s on the pitch or whether that’s not on the pitch. I’m trying hard for us to stay together as a team.
"We haven’t won yet but there are some encouraging performances that we can take from it and we have to take from it.
"We can’t be negative, we’ve got to be positive to get out of this."
