Shane Huke has followed three of his former Dover team-mates to Ebbsfleet.

The defender is Steve Brown's sixth new signing at Stonebridge Road, having worked with him at Crabble last season.

Brown was assistant manager and then first-team coach at Dover and he has already brought former Whites players Daryl McMahon, Ben May and Billy Bricknell to north Kent.

Huke said: "The main reason I was attracted to Ebbsfleet was Steve Brown who I worked under at Dover.

"As soon as he gave me the call I was interested in what he had to offer – he was a great footballer in his time and has a great understanding of the game and actually wants to play football, not long-ball, which is a big draw for me."

Huke, 27, spent four years with Peterborough United and had a spell in Australia with A-League side Central Coast Mariners.

Martin Hayes brought him to Dover from Rushden & Diamonds in May 2011 and Huke was part of the Whites side which reached the Conference South play-off final last season.
