Ebbsfleet United defender Yado Mambo’s season looks to be over.

The former Charlton player, who suffered a serious knee injury last summer, signed for Ebbsfleet in January after seven months out.

But he jarred his knee during the Fleet’s 2-0 defeat at Boreham Wood on March 22 and manager Steve Brown isn’t expecting him to play again this season.

He said: "We’ve sent Yado back to see Charlton’s physio because he’s got a better knowledge of the history regarding Yado’s knee.

"It would probably be prudent for us to try to get whatever the problem is with his knee, to get it right now, so that Yado can recover in the summer. What Yado needs is a pre-season after eight months out.

"Whatever comes back from the physio, we’ll work with Yado to make sure everything is right.

"Yado thought everything was going great. He played three games but then he jarred his knee. It’s a setback because he thought he was OK.

"We’ve told him to take his time to make sure he’s 100%. I don’t know how long it’s going to take. I can’t say it’s him done (for the season) but I’m allowing for not having him available."
