On-loan Welling defender Ben Jefford is staying at Ebbsfleet United for another month.

Jefford arrived at the end of January as cover for Joe Howe, who injured his shoulder in the FA Trophy tie at Braintree.

He's made five appearances for Jamie Day's side since then and is now set to make a few more.

Fleet boss Day said: "We’ve re-loaned Ben. Joe’s got to see a specialist because the nerves in his shoulder haven’t healed as well as they would have thought.

"I still think Joe’s going to be another two or three weeks away so we felt it was in our best interests to re-loan Ben.

"I thought Ben played well on Saturday, probably the best he’s played for us.

"He’s had a few games now under his belt and hopefully he can kick on and we won’t miss Joe too much."
