John Paul Kissock has hailed Daryl McMahon as the best manager he’s ever played for.

Kissock, who turns 26 next month, left Steve King’s Whitehawk to join the Fleet in May having also worked with King at Macclesfield.

Released by David Moyes in 2009 after three years in Everton’s youth ranks, Kissock went on to join Southport when Liam Watson was in charge.

But the midfielder is flourishing under McMahon's tutelage at Stonebridge Road, showing exactly why he was capped by England at under-16 and under-18 level.

Kissock said: "The manager’s been fantastic. He’s the best manager I’ve worked with so far.

"His training sessions are brilliant. He puts his arm round you, tells you what he wants from you and he’s been fantastic with me. He’s the best coach I’ve had since I’ve been playing.

"Everything he does, he’s so organised and he wants to play football the right way.

"The manager sets us up every week to go and win, and we’ve got the team to do it.

"It’s a breath of fresh air when you’ve got staff and a manager that want you to play this way instead of shelling it forward.

"We had a good team last season (at Whitehawk) and the season before (at Macclesfield) but this is the best team I’ve been in."
